Street Politicians is the dynamic, new video-taped podcast featuring activists Tamika D. Mallory and Mysonne, the General. Their show takes an uninhibited look at the social and civil rights issues, pop-culture and politics. Together, they underscore the importance of social activism, awareness, knowing your rights and having a voice. They want you to know that being in service to one’s community isn’t old school; it’s real, it’s happening and its needed now more than ever. Justice For Julius Jones

Julius Jones was a 19-year-old student-athlete with a promising future, who was attending the University of Oklahoma on an academic scholarship. Now at 41 years old, Julius has spent 22 years in an Oklahoma prison on death row. As of September 2021 Julius' execution date has been set. Julius' case is like many we've seen in the United States Justice system, where not enough evidence was provided to convict Jones. Our hosts Tamika D. As of December 2020, the FBI has reported 89,637 active missing person records, and 30,396 of them are under 18. The number of missing people, especially children, has spiked in recent years. Many are calling human Trafficking modern-day slavery. This week on Street, Politicians hosts Tamika D. Mallory and Mysonne "The General" discuss kidnapping in two different aspects. Actress and Maternal Rights Activist Tatyana Ali joined the show to shine light on maternal health and medical kidnapping issues. Community Responsibility and Law Enforcement

The black community is beginning to unlearn our bad habits and solve our own problems without police interference or the use of firearms. As part of the limited six-part series finale on Gun Violence, hosts Tamika and Mysonne speak to the former police chief of the NYPD, Phillip Banks III, and gun violence survivor turned documentarian Samson Styles on how communities and individuals can communicate their problems and squash the beef. Former NYPD Chief Phillip Banks III describes how if the NYPD spent more time listening to communities about prevention and addressing the criticisms they’ve received from activists, he thinks New York would be in a different place regarding gun violence. As a result, we might not be seeing the 55% surge in gun violence. Samson Styles discusses his history of being on both sides of a gun and how it changed his life and perspective. Samson has survived being shot five times and later went on to forgive and work with his shooter to educate younger generations on the importance of solving our problems before it gets to the point of violence. His new documentary “Killing the Beef” follows his story of forgiveness and acceptance as both himself and his assailant move forward in the aftermath of the shooting, hoping to prevent others. In this series finale, we examine the responsibility of law enforcement and the role communities play when it comes to gun prevention.
Intervening To Protect Our Youth

Tamika and Mysonne interview Shanduke McPhatter of G-MACC (Gangstas Making Astronomical Community Changes) about his experience as a former gang member and his work with high-risk youth; and Mysonne takes the lead and speaks to Prince Mapp, the creator of the Citizen App about how he turned his life around from convict to creator. Shanduke McPhatter shares his experience working with high-risk youth immersed in a lifestyle of crime, fast money, violence, & prison sentences. McPhatter explains how he works towards reaching them before gangs do and teaching them about life outside of that culture. Prince Mapp explains how hanging out in the wrong crowds, and getting involved in the wrong circles landed him in jail for 18 on a murder charge. As the creator of the Citizen app, which is designed for public safety, Mapp looks back at his adolescence with a lot of skepticism on his former decision making.
