  • Closing The Mental Health Gap In The Black Community
  • 2021

Studies have shown that African American adults are 20% more likely to experience mental health issues than the rest. Unfortunately, mental health was a silent part of everyday life for many years, resulting in many people suffering in silence. In today’s world, we’ve seen an increase in awareness of mental health. This week hosts, Tamika D. Mallory and Mysonne “The General” have an open discussion on closing the mental health gap in the black community. This week Author and Spiritual Psychologist Anita Kopacz joined the show. First, Kopacz opens up the minds of our hosts by explaining the deep healing needed to heal the trauma many people of color have faced. Later on, in our show, we are joined by Syntyche Franchella, a Spiritual activist and Social worker. She creates space for her clients to express their Spirituality and by moving trauma out the body. Tune in to Street Politicians for more information on what healing takes. Together we can heal ourselves!
