Turning Blue

Clara and daughter Violet celebrate Clara’s 75th birthday in Clara’s at-home hospital bed. Val, the visiting hospice nurse, arrives for her daily visit. Violet discovers Val waiting for her outside Clara’s bedroom. “Her feet are turning blue," Val gently tells Violet indicating ‘transitioning.' Val delicately informs Violet that a higher dosage of morphine will now be needed. In terrifying denial, she contends that her mother is simply sleepy. Val, now in a dilemma, must convince her otherwise. “She can’t do this without you, Violet," Violet must now help her mother in the most important act of her life.
