In response to the Sesame Place incident in Philadelphia, a press conference was held on July 20, 2022, in front of the Sesame Workshop in New York City. In the viral video posted to Instagram by Jodi Brown, showed Brown’s daughter and niece being waved off by the Sesame Street character Rosita after high-fiving and interacting with several other white guests. Brown participated in the press conference with her six-year-old niece. Attorney B’Ivory LaMarr and the co-founders of United Freedom, Mysonne “The General” and Tamika D. Mallory, also made speeches at the press conference. The family is calling on the theme park to fire the employee. A lawsuit has not been filed yet according to the family’s lawyer, B’Ivory LaMarr but stated, “all options are on the table” during the press conference.
