The narrative follows Emile from his boyhood in the 'so-called coloured' community of Cape Flats, during Apartheid, as he begins to explore deeper connections with his own heritage after being exposed to American Hip Hop. His journey leads him to travel beyond his neighborhood to other parts of South Africa, and eventually around the globe, as he and his family use conscious Hip Hop for community building and healing.
